This project is all about fashion and so I thought it would be a good idea to get in touch with students on the fashion course that we could collaborate on that can help with both final projects. I was able to connect with a fashion design student that would design and make garments that I would photograph and direct. So, the student gets to see her final work photographed on a model and I get to take the images with my creative direction to use for my project. This is a good way of working as a team in creating something that you may not typically create yourself. In this instance the student is making a Ganesh jumpsuit, a Sari dress and an Asymmetrical coat, all south Asian fashion pieces. As my project is all about celebrating diversity within how a person chooses to express themselves in clothes is a perfect fit.
The process from start to finish includes:
· Getting in touch with the model- either through social media or asking students face to face as we work in the same building.
· Messaging back and forth on what dates are best for each person to shoot.
· Book the studio.
· Sending a mood board of what we want the shoot to look like. Eg. Set, props, model, pose.
· Find a model that can come on the day the studio is booked for.
· Do the photoshoot- get model release form signed.
· Go though, edit and send images to fashion student which is the last and final step.
